I am only a child. I am eight years old. My world of Wookey Marsh is very different from yours. I can only guess at what your world is like. In my world, I have to deal with imminent danger. Each day is an adventure full of wild things happening all around me. I have to react very quickly and see to it that I get myself into a safe place. My sister, who is the same age, disappeared when I was very young. She was kidnapped and then vanished. I never saw her again, and I don't know where she is.
The same thing happened to my mother. My father has spent many years looking for both of them, but has had no success in finding them. To make matters worse, at the time I lost touch with my sister, our country was invaded and we had to go into hiding. I have no way of finding out where my mother and sister are. I think they may be as far as a thousand miles or more away. It is very disheartening and think and worry about them every moment of my being.
To fill in my time, I take long walks and love to ride. I have a small boat that I can use to search for things that live near the water. My boat has a single oar that I can paddle with and that enables me to get around.
